As yet so much
to live
Those
days in the courtroom flew by. Always on my feet behind
the barrier, exhausted but determined to follow his ever changing
expressions - the surprise of his smile as he talked to
the lawyer. I shall never forget that smile, that gaze: one of
respect, discretion and tenderness. Someone who smiles like that,
I thought, must be special. I was certain of it. Nobody could
have convinced me otherwise.
